Karen Marrero
Karen Marrero is Assistant Professor of Colonial North American History in the Department of History at Wayne State University. She is a comparative and transnational historian of the United States and Canada, who has published on interactions between Indigenous- and Euro-Americans in the Great Lakes in the 17th, 18th, and early 19th centuries. She conducts research in the areas of: colonial North America; Native America and Indigenous Peoples; Early Modern Atlantic world; women and gender; and memory, narrative, and the nature of historical truth and authenticity. She has delivered papers at conferences of Berkshire Conference on Women Historians, Ethnohistory, French Colonial Historical Society, NAISA, and Omohundro Institute for Early American History and Culture.
