Hector Peralta

Héctor A. Peralta is a PhD Candidate in American Studies whose research broadly explores immigration, racial formation, and competing sovereignties at the U.S.-Mexico border. His dissertation project documents the history of San Diego County from 1980 to 2018 and focuses on the relationality between the Kumeyaay nation and their tribal gaming enterprise, Latinx migration, and resettlement of Iraqi refugees. Héctor graduated from Brown University, where he received a BA in Ethnic Studies and Education-Human Development.
