Angela Gleason is Assistant Director at the Center for Language Study. She received her PhD in History from Trinity College, Dublin, where her research focused on legal and social aspects of leisure in medieval Ireland and Scandinavia. At Yale she directs the DILS, Fields and Foreign Language Tutoring programs, and teaches an undergraduate seminar on the History of Sport. Through the DILS program she has overseen instruction in seven Native American languages (and counting). Starting in fall 2015, she’s helping pilot the Native American Language Project, which will begin with a community course in Choctaw.
