Douglas Whalen

Dr. Douglas Whalen is a Yale Linguistics researcher and Vice President of Research for the Haskins Laboratories at Yale. A long-time member and founder of the Endangered Language Fund, whose Board of Directors he chairs, Whalen has worked extensively across Indian Country on issues of language preservation. He serves on the Advisory Board of the Healing Through Language program which takes a multiple set of approaches to improving health. Supporting Native American language programs, this project assesses the positive health outcomes and attributes of the revitalization and increased use of Indigenous language.
